Job Description
Who we are looking for… The Family Counseling Center of Fulton County, Inc. is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse (RN) to provide advanced clinical nursing care and leadership within our behavioral health and community health programs. The Senior RN is responsible for coordinating client care, supervising nursing staff, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all required regulations and agency standards. This position promotes a person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach to care. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State Minimum of 5 years of RN experience Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in behavioral health, community health, or related healthcare settings Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Ability to pass required background checks and Medicaid exclusion screening Preferred Master's degree in Nursing or related field Experience working in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment Advanced practice or specialty certifications related to behavioral health nursing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of behavioral health conditions and treatment approaches Understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented systems of care Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally Commitment to cultural competence, equity, inclusion, and professional development Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Coordination Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals Administer and monitor medications and provide medication education to clients Maintain accurate medication documentation and manage medication orders Leadership & Supervision Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance evaluations Ensure compliance with agency policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements Participate in quality improvement activities and development of clinical best practices Client & Family Education Educate clients and families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies Advocate for client needs and support access to appropriate services and resources Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, care plans, and progress notes Ensure compliance with New York State nursing and behavioral health regulations Prepare required clinical and program reports as needed Additional Responsibilities Participate in agency trainings, supervision, and mandatory meetings Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives Follow agency Compliance Plan and Standards of Conduct Perform other duties as assigned Work Environment This position includes office and outpatient clinical work and may require extended periods of standing, walking, and use of medical equipment. Travel Occasional travel may be required for meetings, trainings, community outreach, and agency events. Why Join Us?
