$120,000-$160,000 Base Salary (Highly Negotiable Based on Experience) + Relocation Assistance + Full Benefits About Our Client Our client is a well-established and growing precast/prestressed concrete manufacturer serving commercial, infrastructure, and multi-family construction markets throughout the Northeast. They are known for delivering technically complex structural projects while maintaining a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and long-term client relationships. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on engineering with team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic project involvement. Position Summary The Senior Structural Engineer, P.E. oversees the day-to-day operations of the engineering and detailing department while serving as a key technical leader within the organization. This role reports directly to the General Manager and combines advanced structural design responsibilities with leadership of a team of CAD/Revit detailers. The ideal candidate will act as the technical bridge between engineering, plant production, project management, and quality control to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, project efficiency, and profitability across a diverse portfolio of projects. Projects may include parking garages, bridges, multi-family residential developments, hotels, and other large-scale precast/prestressed concrete structures. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CAD/Revit detailers while overseeing departmental workflow, scheduling, and project deadlines. Perform structural engineering calculations and design work for precast and prestressed concrete structures. Review and coordinate outsourced engineering and design efforts. Manage projects through all phases including design, review, submission, production, and construction support. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Plant Operations, and Quality Control teams to resolve design and production issues. Assist with RFIs, NCRs, bidding efforts, and technical problem-solving throughout project execution. Develop innovative engineering solutions, value-engineering concepts, camber control plans, and shipping/handling strategies. Generate, review, and seal engineering calculations and construction documents in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Attend project meetings and support strong communication between engineering, operations, and ownership teams. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree preferred). Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required. Ability to obtain engineering licensure in New England states and New York. 10+ years of structural engineering experience. 5+ years of experience specifically within precast and prestressed concrete design.
Strong knowledge of:
PCI Design Handbook
IBC ASCE-7 ACI 318 AISC
Steel Construction Manual Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and structural design software. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and coordinating across departments. Preferred Experience working directly with manufacturing or precast production environments. Design-build project experience. Strong client-facing communication and project leadership abilities.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
