Job Description:
Senior Tax Specialist- Hybrid Greater Chicago A leading insurance company is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to support corporate tax reporting, compliance, financial reporting, and audit coordination activities across multiple entities. This role offers strong exposure to both tax and accounting operations within a complex financial services and insurance environment.
Compensation:
$83,000-125,000 Key Responsibilities Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions and related disclosures for statutory and GAAP reporting Review Federal and state tax returns and analyze return-to-provision adjustments Review quarterly tax estimates and coordinate Federal, state, and intercompany tax payments Maintain reconciliations related to tax payments and deferred tax activity Respond to Federal and state tax notices in a timely manner Partner with external tax advisors and auditors to support compliance and audit requests Research and document new tax regulations and assess business impact Prepare financial statements and analytics for a captive insurance entity Coordinate annual audit activities, including tracking documentation and leading status meetings Assist in maintaining organized tax records and supporting documentation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field CPA or progress toward CPA preferred 2-4 years of experience in tax, insurance, accounting, or corporate accounting Understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting principles preferred Experience with book-to-tax adjustments and deferred tax accounting preferred Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables Experience preparing financial statements and performing complex reconciliations Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills Close attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Basic understanding of insurance operations is a plus For immediate consideration, please reach out to Kelly Lucey at klucey@daleyaa.com
