Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for providing the instrumentation knowledge and skills to perform the preventive and repair maintenance to the facility equipment in a safe, economical and environmentally sound manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Practice, participate and support the plant's health, safety and housekeeping policies, procedures and processes to create and maintain an orderly, safe, and healthy work environment. Perform calibration, repair and integrity checks of process instrumentation to assure that accuracy, functionality, and reliability are within acceptable limits. Provide attention to detail and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product. Ability to read and understand instrument drawings (i.e. Loop sheets, P&ID, etc.) Provide technical assistance to production and engineering groups on application of new and modification of existing process instrumentation. Maintain and update instrument department records as required to track repairs, specifications and equipment history. Provide on-the-job training to other Instrument Technicians and to those deemed appropriate by management.

Education and Certifications:

Associate degree from an approved Instrument/Electrical school or equivalent Instrument journeyman-level experience.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

5 years industrial plant experience; good working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and safeguards for maintenance and new instrument installations in a process chemical plant. Excellent Mechanical Aptitude and the ability to comprehend and apply technical and service manual information. Basic knowledge of process control systems. Westlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
