Server / Retailer

We're looking for a small group of front-of-house team members (bartenders, servers, and those with mixed FOH experience) who are genuinely passionate about ingredients, process, and hospitality. Ojai Mountain Farm is a bar, market, and deli rooted in our farm, where everything we serve starts with the land and is carried through with intention, from kitchen to bar to shelf. We work closely with what we grow, making our own spirits and preserving and fermenting in-house, with a menu that reflects seasonality, soil health, and a true farm-to-table approach. We're doing something special—right from our organic and biodiverse farm in Ojai, straight to our community's table—and are looking for special people to be a part of it. Position Summary Our server/retail staff at Ojai Mountain Farm play a hybrid role across the dining, bar, and market areas, supporting both guest experience and daily operations. With a strong understanding of our ingredients, sourcing, and in-house processes, they will welcome guests, guide them through our offerings, and help foster the warm and dynamic environment we provide in our shop. This role moves fluidly between serving, retail support, food running, and light bar support to maintain seamless service. Team members also help maintain displays, support prep, and assist with other needs of the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

FOH Duties Deliver warm, knowledgeable FOH service across deli, bar and market. Guide guests through menu, products, and beverage offerings. Operate POS and online ordering; handle transactions accurately. Maintain market displays, deli cases, and retail merchandising. Deliver plated food directly to guests with professionalism and warmth. Offer thoughtful descriptions of dishes and ingredients, including local sourcing details or techniques. Answer guest questions confidently and communicate any feedback or concerns to FOH or kitchen leadership. Support bussing, cleanliness and smooth table turns. Assist with prep, labeling or retail updates as needed. Keep spaces clean, stocked, and organized. Support bar team as needed (light barbacking, service flow). Complete daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks, including restrooms, trash, windows, and overall upkeep of the space. Cross-train in prep kitchen and various BOH duties to ensure daily success of restaurant and market (where applicable). Other duties as needed. Teamwork and Communication Communicate effectively with the back of house, bar team, and FOH staff to coordinate food orders and special requests. Support a collaborative, respectful culture where everyone contributes to a high functioning, guest focused team. Notify supervisors of equipment issues, low inventory or quality concerns promptly. Work cooperatively with others.

Expectations & Requirements:

2-3 years hospitality or restaurant experience preferred. Food handler's certificate. Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of food safety practices. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50lbs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
