Job Description

Join our team as an Automotive Service Lot Porter! The Automotive Service Lot Porter is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the dealership's service department by maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient vehicle flow throughout the service lot and facility. This role involves moving, parking, staging, and retrieving customer and dealership vehicles while ensuring all vehicles are handled safely and professionally. The Lot Porter works closely with service advisors, technicians, and management to help provide an excellent customer experience and maintain smooth department operations. Key Responsibilities Move customer and inventory vehicles safely throughout the service department, parking areas, wash area, and storage lots. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the service drive, parking lot, customer waiting areas, and surrounding grounds. Greet customers professionally and assist with vehicle drop-off and pick-up when needed. Retrieve vehicles for customers promptly and ensure vehicles are ready upon service completion. Assist technicians and service advisors with transporting vehicles to and from inspection, detailing, fueling, or other departments. Perform basic vehicle inspections, including checking tire pressure, fuel levels, battery condition, and fluid levels as directed. Install protective coverings such as seat covers and floor mats to protect customer vehicles during service. Ensure all vehicles are locked, secured, and parked in designated areas. Monitor the lot for safety hazards and report any damage, accidents, or maintenance concerns immediately. Help maintain inventory accuracy by tracking vehicle locations and updating management when vehicles are moved. Assist with car washes, vacuuming, and light detailing duties as required. Follow all dealership safety procedures, company policies, and traffic regulations. Support additional dealership operations and tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during shifts. Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude required. Physical Requirements Frequently walking and standing for long periods. Ability to safely enter, exit, and maneuver vehicles repeatedly throughout the day. Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds occasionally. Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, including heat, rain, and cold weather. Work Environment This position operates primarily in a dealership service department and outdoor lot environment. The role requires frequent movement of vehicles, interaction with customers and staff, and adherence to safety procedures while maintaining dealership standards for professionalism and customer satisfaction.
