Service Technician Job details Job Type Full-time Full Job Description Pressure Washer/Steam Cleaner Service Technician We are looking for a hard-working, self-starter, dedicated pressure washer/steam cleaner service technician to join our growing staff. The individual in this role will be responsible for fixing equipment for our customers in our inside service area and installing equipment as well as field service. Candidates should have experience fixing and installing HVAC type equipment and be comfortable working with little to no supervision.

• Pressure Washer/Steam Cleaner Service Technician Job Profile and Description A Pressure Washer/Steam Cleaner technician is an individual who is responsible for repairing of high- pressure pumps, oil & gas burners for the heater as well as installation and maintenance.

They usually investigate heating and ventilation aspects. They must look for defects in equipment and repair them. They also must identify defects in components and wiring and repair or replace them to ensure that the components and wiring are in proper working condition. It is the job of a service technician to investigate factors that affect the heating and ventilation and finding solutions to solve the problem. They must test electrical circuits for continuity as well as load. They must use electrical test equipment as well as combustion analyzers for their work. They must ensure that the system compliance is as per specifications.

• Pressure Washer/Steam Cleaner Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities Pressure Washers/Steam Cleaner systems consist of fluid components as well as hundreds of electrical, electronic, and other mechanical parts.

Depending upon the day, a service technician may be diagnosing and repairing problems, or installing and replacing components or entire systems. Depending upon the season, service technicians will perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out of season equipment. For example, heating systems will undergo performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure their readiness for the winter and summer months based on ambient temperature changes and burner intake air settings. Service technicians typically work a regular schedule Monday through Friday. Typically periods of extreme weather (such as low temperatures) will result in more calls. The beginning and end of summer and winter are also busy times. Field service technicians should expect potentially uncomfortable working conditions, due to weather or cramped space. There are various duties and responsibilities required to be followed by an individual working in the position of a service technician.

In shop:

• Identifying, diagnosing, troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing of various types of equipment.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical inspection and maintenance on equipment to bring them to optimal performance
• Identifying defects in components as well as wires and finding solutions to solve the defect
• Perform oil changes, belt adjustment, cleaning of equipment, greasing, and other specific preventive maintenance work
• Determine service requirements by applying technical skills and experience, including system operations and preventive maintenance experience
• Inspecting various electrical systems including testing circuits for continuity and load
• Ensuring that all the system compliance is per equipment specifications
• Reassembling required equipment to follow repairs
• Give advice on additional services to customers that may be beneficial to them
• Complete and submit needed paperwork in a timely manner to the service manager
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by the service manager
• Ensuring that all safety procedures are followed

Field Installation & Service Maintenance:

• Travel to customers businesses daily as scheduled
• Perform consultations with customers
• Determine customer needs and discuss all solution methods
• Install new systems
• Inspect current systems for effectiveness and safety
• Perform preventative maintenance on systems to increase longevity
• Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
• Troubleshoot current system issues
• Repair damaged systems
• Sell ongoing maintenance contracts to current customers
• Keep records of customer appointments and payment transactions including invoices
• Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and resources
• Give preventive maintenance inspections performed to representative/owner and suggest corrective actions to be applied
• Serve as a company representative to other contractors, owners, and trades The service technician's role also entails perform preventive maintenance duties and carries out proactive repair works when necessary.

The service technician may serve as a direct contact of his/her company to customers, which places him/her in the best position to provide sales leads to the sales coordinator to work on. The service technician work description also involves responsibility for determining the parts of equipment to order to fix faulty equipment, and make sure they are ordered on time to be able to make repairs quickly. It also involves completing paperwork for each job done, including stating job status, duration, and daily time. He/she must be able to work cordially with other people in a high volume and fast-paced environment and should have a good customer service attitude. He/she must be able to work in a team-based setting, sharing workload and information with other members of the team to ensure customers are satisfied with the service they render.

• Pressure Washer/Steam Cleaner Service Technician Education and Qualification The educational qualifications preferred to work as a service technician are as follows:
• High school diploma
• Community college or vocational school HVAC program
• Associate program or course for an HVAC technician from a training institute Additional Requirements and Qualifications to work as a service technician are as follows:
• Must hold state driver's license insurable for driving company vehicles
• Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations
• Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex issues with customers in a way they understand
• Critical-thinker, problem-solver
• Previous on the job training a plus
