Job Description
Job Summary:
This role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining trailers (or other equipment as needed) to ensure optimal functionality and customer satisfaction. The person in the role must have strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to high-quality service.Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Diagnose issues and perform repairs on units including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform annual safety inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers.
- Test unit following repair to ensure effective and safe operation.
- Communicate repair issues, solutions, and recommendations to service manager.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, as required.
- Perform pre-delivery inspection of trailers.
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area. Assist with keeping the entire shop clean and orderly.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, vendors, and customers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in repair or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in equipment repair, ideally in an automotive, trailer, heavy equipment, or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle heavy loads up to 70 lbs.
- May require working with potentially hazardous materials requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
