SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, organizes and delivers programs of instruction that support the premise that high expectations for all students are possible, also implements activities that promote the learning goals and outcomes as required
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate research-based instructional strategies that addresses Kentucky's learning goals and learning outcomes for students Coordinates and supervises work experience and on-campus job-training programs involving the disabled Works cooperatively with classroom teachers who have disabled students in regular classes, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students to the entire staff, and assisting the student with regular class assignments Collaborates frequently with parents and professional staff members regarding the educational, social, and personal problems of such students Collaborates with professional staff members in resolving the unique psychological or disciplinary problems of each student Assists the disabled students in making a realistic assessment of his/her abilities and in establishing educational and occupational goals in keeping with these abilities Undertakes continuing professional study in the psychology of the disabled student in teaching methods related to his field Keeps attendance records and all other records pertinent to the special education programs required by state and local regulations, and policies and procedures Includes comprehensive and appropriate resources for teaching and learning situations Makes efficient use of human, physical and time resources Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as outlined at the school/district Maintains regular and predictable attendance Adheres to the professional code of ethics Successfully utilizes technology as appropriate in job function Performs such other tasks as may be requested by immediate supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Kentucky certificate, license, or other legal credential required
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel
