Job Description

Settlement Attorney Join a powerhouse firm at the ground floor of our high-stakes expansion into Southern Maryland. We aren't just opening an office in Rockville; we're building a legacy, and we need a battle-tested Maryland Settlement Attorney with 34 years of residential closing expertise to lead the charge. You'll be responsible for extensive research to ensure the legal sale of the property and provide exceptional closing services to our clients. Job seekers should be driven, motivated professionals who are looking for growth. If this sounds like you, let's connect asap!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Manage real estate transaction files from contract receipt through post-closing preparation
  • Prepare Closing Disclosures and/or Settlement Statements
  • Review and balance closing files for accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and clients to ensure all documentation is complete and deadlines are met
  • Review payoffs, HOA information, surveys, and other transaction-related documentation
  • Communicate regularly with all stakeholders to provide status updates and resolve issues proactively
  • Ensure files meet regulatory and lender requirements
  • Prepare closing packages
  • Answer client and agent questions throughout the transaction while providing a high level of service
  • Intelligently explain the chain of title discrepancies to all parties involved
  • Resolve chain of title discrepancies prior to closing
  • Maintain organized digital files and ensure proper documentation is in the settlement system
  • Assist settlement agents and attorneys with closing preparation
  • Schedule closings: in-office, mobile Notary, Remote Online Notary
  • Support post-closing coordination when necessary
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • MD State Bar license is required
  • Working knowledge of Qualia software is great, but not required
  • 3-5 years of title closing experience, abstractor experience, title examiner, or providing closing services is required
  • Meet state licensing requirements -- a title producer's license is required
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
