Who We're Looking For We need a sharp, highly organized, and proactive Demands & Settlement Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is ready to take ownership of the post-settlement process. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, a master communicator, and a case handling powerhouse who knows how to keep things moving and keep clients informed. The Demands & Settlement Assistant plays a critical role in the post-settlement process by serving as the primary liaison between clients, lien negotiators, attorneys, and internal departments once a case has been resolved. This position is responsible for coordinating settlement documentation, issuing releases, communicating settlement terms to clients, and ensuring timely and accurate case transfer to the Liens department.
Key Responsibilities:
Settlement & Release Processing Prepare, issue, and track settlement releases and related documents to clients. Ensure releases are properly executed and returned in a timely manner. Review returned releases for completeness and accuracy. Follow up with clients regarding outstanding releases and settlement paperwork. Upload and properly label executed documents in Salesforce. Client Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients after settlement. Explain settlement terms, timelines, and next steps in a clear and professional manner. Provide regular status updates regarding lien resolution and disbursement. Address client questions and concerns related to settlement processing. Maintain consistent, courteous, and compassionate communication. Coordination with Lien Negotiations Act as the liaison between the Settlements/Demands Department and the Lien Negotiations Team. Submit finalized settlement information and documentation to lien negotiators. Communicate lien-related updates to clients and internal teams. Escalate unresolved lien issues to management when necessary. Case Management & Documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes in Salesforce. Ensure all settlement-related documentation is properly stored and organized. Monitor deadlines and internal benchmarks for settlement processing. Assist in preparing settlement packets. Disbursement Support Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to ensure timely disbursement. Confirm receipt of settlement funds and clearance of trust deposits. Assist in resolving discrepancies related to settlement distributions. Internal Collaboration Work closely with Case Managers, Demand Writers, Attorneys, and Accounting. Provide updates to leadership regarding case status and processing delays. Participate in department meetings and workflow improvement initiatives. Support special projects related to settlement optimization and compliance. Compliance & Quality Control Ensure all settlement procedures comply with firm policies. Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information. Assist with audits and internal quality reviews as needed High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor and client-service mindset. Preferred Skills & Competencies Knowledge of personal injury settlement and lien resolution processes. Familiarity with medical liens, subrogation, and reimbursement claims. Ability to handle sensitive client situations with empathy and professionalism. Strong follow-up and task management skills. Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems. What You Bring to the Table Proven experience in personal injury case management
