Job Description

A Sewer Field Technician is an entry-level position responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing sewer grinder systems to ensure proper wastewater flow and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, willing to learn, and able to work in outdoor environments. No prior experience is required; training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Respond to sewer backups, overflows, and emergency service calls. Locate and repair damaged or clogged grinder pumps. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sewer systems using jetting or vacuum equipment. Assist with installation and replacement of sewer lines and components. Record inspection results and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations. Work with supervisors and team members to maintain system performance. Skills and Qualifications Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools. Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read maps, diagrams, and system layouts. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license. Physical Requirements Ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs). Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing. Ability to work in confined spaces and around wastewater environments. Candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
