SELMA-KINGSBURG-FOWLER COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT CLASSIFICATION
Sewerage System Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY:
Under the close and direct supervision of the Assistant Collections Supervisor, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the District's wastewater collection system, both on regular and stand-by duty.
SALARY:
$4,248 - $5,422 per month (Range 12 "A" step through "Y" step) •Up to 9% wage rate increase for additional certification pay.
REGULAR WORK HOURS
Daylight Saving Time:
6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
End of Daylight-Saving Time:
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Must be able to work standby, overtime, weekends, evenings and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS
One or more years of experience in maintenance and construction, preferably as a plumber, pipe layer, equipment operator, or collection system maintenance worker. Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. College level course work or trade school training in wastewater collection, mechanical repair, wastewater treatment technology, or a related field is highly desirable. Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license at time of appointment and ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Class B driver's license with tank and air brake endorsements within the first six months of employment. Possession and maintenance of a Grade I Collections System Maintenance Certification issued by the California Water Environment Association Technical Certification Program within two years of hire date. Must report to worksite within 45 minutes after receiving notification of being called back.

The examination includes a drug screening test. A positive test will result in disqualification from employment consideration.
