$60-$75 per hour when available depending on project classification Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics to support our growing mechanical construction projects across the DMV region. This role focuses on the installation of commercial ductwork and sheet metal HVAC systems on new construction and renovation projects. Types of Projects Our teams work on a variety of large commercial construction projects, including: Multifamily and mixed-use developments Universities and educational facilities Healthcare and medical buildings Office buildings and tenant fit-outs Hospitality and hotel projects Key Responsibilities Install commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints Perform layout and installation of air distribution systems Install dampers, fittings, and related HVAC components Operate lifts, power tools, and installation equipment Maintain job site safety standards and cleanliness Work with Foremen and crews to meet project schedules Apply If You Have Experience With Commercial HVAC duct installation Sheet metal fabrication or installation Mechanical construction projects Blueprint reading and layout Installing ductwork on commercial buildings Qualifications 2+ years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience Ability to read mechanical drawings Familiar with hand tools and installation equipment Ability to work independently or as part of a crew Willingness to travel to project sites across the DMV region OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred CompensationBenefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Prevailing wage project opportunities when available Performance-based bonus opportunities Medical, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) retirement plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Steady work across a strong pipeline of commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects throughout the DMV region Opportunities for career growth within a growing mechanical contractor Many of our Foremen and field leaders started their careers at VMG as mechanics and advanced through the company.
