Shelter Manager

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the animal shelter, including managing staff and volunteers
• Ensure the well-being and care of all animals in the shelter. Be available to stay with the animals late evenings or overnight if not available to take home with you when they are sick or need extra care.
• Coordinate and supervise animal intake, including vaccinations, health checks, and documentation.
• Enforce shelter policies and procedures
• Clean shelter and keep grounds mowed and weed free
• Maintain accurate records of animal intake, adoptions, and medical treatments
• Manage adoption process, including screening potential adopters and facilitating adoptions
• Coordinate with local veterinary clinics for medical care and spay/neuter services
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional manner _ Must already live less than 15 minutes from the shelter, located at 57 Lemons Branch Rd.

Bryson City Experience:

• Prior Vet Tech experience or animal shelter care a MUST.
• Previous experience working in an animal shelter environment.
• Knowledge of animal care best practices and basic medical procedures
• Familiarity with data entry and data collection systems
• Ability to administer medications to animals as needed
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
