Job Description

Shift Lead Play Zone Bowling & Restaurant Play Zone is looking for a motivated Shift Lead to support our bowling and restaurant operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with people, creating great guest experiences, and keeping things running smoothly during busy shifts. Job Summary As a Bowling & Restaurant Shift Lead , you will help lead the team on duty, support daily operations, and serve as the main point of contact when management is not immediately available. You will ensure guests receive excellent service while maintaining a safe, organized, and positive environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and support bowling and restaurant staff during assigned shifts Perform opening and closing duties, including facility setup, security, and checklists Help train new team members and reinforce company procedures Assign tasks, manage break coverage, and ensure proper staffing during peak hours Greet guests and create a welcoming experience Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints professionally Approve refunds, discounts, and credits within company guidelines Respond to customer and employee injuries by following procedures, and completing reports Support daily operations including cash handling, register opening/closing, inventory checks, and basic equipment oversight Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility Communicate shift updates, issues, and guest feedback to management Promote teamwork and a positive work culture Qualifications Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or customer service role (restaurant, bowling center, or similar preferred) Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to perform essential job functions Education & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Associate's degree (preferred) 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (preferred) Food Handler's Card (preferred) Responsible alcohol service certification (preferred, if applicable) First Aid/CPR certification (preferred) Physical Requirements & Schedule Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in a busy, noisy environment Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
