Job Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with global operations in 6 countries and serves customers in almost 60 countries. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington (USA), Trident employs approximately 7,700 people worldwide each year and partners with over 2,700 independent fishermen and crewmembers in Alaska. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary:
The Shift Lead assists in coordinating and monitoring activities of workers engaged in the production process by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions:
Supervises employees throughout the production areas and monitors their activities Coordinates daily activities of the production group with all departments to meet production and sanitation goals. Monitors and tracks performance of assigned lines and reports to supervision, maintenance and QA any issues. Performs daily shift review meetings at the end of each shift with the oncoming shift to communicate performance and issues throughout the shift. Assists in training hourly employees. Assures compliance with all safety rules and good manufacturing practices. Communicates with Supervisors and other Lead personnel any problems or concerns that surface during shift. Supports special projects as needed. Performs attendance at beginning of shift and monitors employees for GMP compliance. Assures compliance with all safety and production practices. Communicates with Supervisors, FSQA and other Lead personnel any problems or concerns.
Travel/On-Call Requirements:
not required for this position This role is non-exempt at $23.57 to $29.91 per hour. Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Fulltime employees accrue vacation each pay period starting on their first day of employment, up to 112 hours per year, and are eligible for up to 48 hours of sick leave per year, in accordance with company policy.
Required Qualifications:
1 year of experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience managing the production lines HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education & Experiences:
2-3 years supervisory experience preferably in food production HS Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of production processes, food safety and quality controls typically required in a food manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong Time Management skills. Strong communication skills to effectively give direction or share information.
Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced work environment. Ability to interpret simple written instructions and follow established procedures. Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.
Work Ability Requirements:
Employee regularly bends or leans at waist level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch The employee lifts and carries objects up to 5 lbs regularly and up to 30 lbs occasionally
