Job Description:
Shipper/Receiver Position Overview The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and safety in shipping and receiving operations while maintaining records and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities Shipping:
Prepare, pack, and label products for shipment. Coordinate with Office Manager to arrange pick-up and delivery schedules. Verify shipping documents, such as bills of lading and packing lists. Track and document outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Communicate shipping delays or discrepancies with relevant departments.
Receiving:
Inspect and unload incoming shipments to verify accuracy against purchase orders or invoices. Check for damaged or missing items and report issues to suppliers or management. Complete receiving forms. Safely operate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, to unload and move items. Ensure proper storage of received goods in designated areas.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, shipments, and receipts. Assist in regular cycle counts and inventory audits. Notify supervisors of low stock levels or discrepancies.
Wood Shop Operation:
Ability to measure, mark, cut, nail, screw and assemble shipping crates using various wood shop equipment in a safe manner. Ability to read drawings and build crates to specifications. Package finished goods according to specifications. Maintain wood shop and shipping area cleanliness, organization and keep supplies in good working order Inform management to order supplies as necessary.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials, if applicable. Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) and stand for extended periods. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Key Skills:
Time management and multitasking. Familiarity with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS) and logistics. Basic math and record-keeping abilities. Knowledge of health and safety practices in warehouse settings.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced warehouse setting. May require overtime or weekend shifts during peak periods. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and equipment operation. Monday through Thursday 7
