Shipping and Receiving Associate

Position Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies. This role ensures timely and accurate processing, maintains inventory organization, and supports the shipping and receiving operations in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a focus on safety and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Manage the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Process outbound shipments promptly, sorting and stocking items to facilitate quick access and effective inventory management.
• Schedule and coordinate shipment dispatches, ensuring that all deadlines are met and shipments arrive on time.
• Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments to maintain visibility and accountability at all stages.
• Resolve any issues that may arise during transit including but not limited to missing shipments, clearance issues, damage etc.
• Review and process orders, create delivery notes and invoices using the ERP system, and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations during unloading, stocking, and shipment processes.
• Assist the Operations Manager as needed to support daily operations and departmental goals.
• Work directly with the sales team to discuss shipping options, transit time and provide shipping estimates as needed.
• Process inbound stock shipments, sorting and stocking items to facilitate quick access and effective inventory management.
• Maintain organized and accurate records within the ERP system.
• Coordinate and maintain shipping and receiving requests, ensuring all associated documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors and delivery drivers to ensure smooth coordination of shipments.
• Foster positive working relationships with JUST Normlicht staff, shipping vendors, customers and resellers.
• Additional responsibilities may be added as designated by management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly with team members, management, and external contacts.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure timely processing of shipments and adherence to deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Ability to anticipate and address potential shipping or receiving issues quickly and effectively.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat for tracking shipments, internal/external communication and managing documentation.
• Basic math skills for calculating measurements, counting inventory, and verifying shipment details.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for order processing and inventory management.

Experience with specific shipping platforms such as FedEx, UPS, and/or international shipping software is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; ability to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. A college education is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar shipping and receiving role is required. Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire; preferred certification prior to employment.

Pay:

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour
