Shipping Clerk

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of goods, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining seamless shipping and receiving processes. This role is vital in supporting our warehouse distribution, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a proactive approach to logistics operations. Duties Prepare and process outgoing shipments using appropriate packaging materials, ensuring products are securely packed for transit. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to load, unload, and move inventory within the warehouse safely. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to track inventory levels, update shipment statuses, and manage order data. Pick, pack, and fulfill customer orders accurately by following order picking procedures and using RF scanners for precise stock selection. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries while verifying shipping documentation for compliance. Receive incoming shipments by inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies and updating inventory records accordingly. Maintain organized stock areas through proper stocking techniques and regular inventory counts. Assist in warehouse distribution activities to optimize space utilization and streamline order fulfillment processes. Support e-commerce order processing by managing small parcel shipments and coordinating with fulfillment teams. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during load & unload operations and maintain a clean work environment. Experience Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with exposure to shipping & receiving functions. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Knowledge of order fulfillment procedures including picking & packing, stock replenishment, and inventory control. Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and quantities accurately. Experience with MRPs (Material Requirements Planning) systems is a plus but not mandatory. Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes within e-commerce or retail sectors is desirable. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
