Job Description
Job Overview The Shipping Clerk is responsible for supporting daily shipping and logistics operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of products to customers and warehouses. This position assists with shipping/receiving documentation, inventory coordination, carrier communications, and maintaining organized records while supporting overall shipping, receiving and warehouse personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Process inbound and outbound shipment documentation in accordance with requirements and company procedures. Verify shipping orders, bill of landing, packing slips, labels, and related documentation for accuracy. Coordinate with shipping, warehouse, production, QC, and sales departments regarding shipment schedules and order status. Maintain organized shipping records and filing systems. Assist with inventory reconciliation and verification of quantities shipped and received. Inspect inbound and outgoing shipments to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and compliance with customer specifications. Communicate professionally with carriers, and internal personnel regarding shipping/receiving inquiries. Support receiving activities as needed, including verifications of incoming deliveries. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shipping area. Follow all company safety, food safety, and operational procedures. Operate warehouse equipment such as propane forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to load, unload, and transport goods efficiently. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior shipping, warehouse, logistics, or administrative experience preferred. Basic knowledge of shipping documentation, freight procedures, and inventory practices preferred. Semi-proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills; bi-lingual preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs and lift throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in warehouse and production environments, including varying temperatures.
