About the
Role:
The Shipping/Receiving position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and finished products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production schedules. The individual will coordinate with various departments to ensure timely shipping and receiving activities, contributing to overall operational efficiency. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent damage and loss of materials. Ultimately, this role supports the seamless flow of materials that is vital to meeting customer demands and maintaining production continuity.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or databases. Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods. Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices in warehouse operations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external carriers. Prior experience in a manufacturing setting with exposure to production schedules and quality control processes.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality. Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements. Maintain organized and accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and manual logs. Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to schedule and prioritize shipping and receiving activities. Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to move goods within the warehouse. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all shipping and receiving operations. Report discrepancies, damages, or delays promptly to supervisors and assist in resolving issues. Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits to maintain stock accuracy.
Cleaning company property:
keeping the grounds, parking lot clean. Sort pallets and put tubs away.
Skills:
The required skills enable the candidate to efficiently manage the flow of materials by accurately receiving and shipping goods, ensuring inventory integrity, and maintaining safety standards. Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer applications supports accurate record-keeping and communication. Forklift operation and material handling skills are essential for moving products safely and efficiently within the warehouse. Preferred skills such as knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience with warehouse management systems enhance the candidate's ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
