Shop Helper Job Description We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Grinder / Floater to support daily shop operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working with tools, assisting across multiple work areas, and doing what's needed to keep the shop running efficiently. Responsibilities Assemble components using hand and power tools. Operate basic shop equipment such as saws and grinders. Clean parts, work areas, and equipment as needed. Read and interpret basic prints, schematics, and work orders. Build pallets and crates for outbound shipments. Safely and effectively operate a drill press on a variety of materials, including metals and wood. Support material handling and general shop flow. Assist other departments or employees as needed. Identify ways to help improve workflow and efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience working with tools. Comfortable using hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, and saws. Ability to read basic prints or schematics. Willingness to learn new processes and take direction. Strong work ethic and team-first attitude. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mechanical assembly, crate building, and pallet building. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
