Shop Laborer

Company summary Danlee Wood Products has been in business since 1995 with over 30 years of custom building and design experience. With a focus on quality and craftsmanship, we've been manufacturing and installing custom-made kitchens, vanities, wardrobes, outdoor kitchens, laundries, entertainment units, studies to include all commercial and residential needs. We are looking for a few quality craftsmen to round out our team, working out of our busy Forreston, IL location. Job summary Laborer must know how all the parts of cabinet construction come together with wood species to ensure order is correct and built in sequence. Our ideal candidate(s) would be highly motivated, punctual, hard-working ambitious, positive with a high level of detail and quality control. They would possess high self-imposed standards for the quality of their work. Taking both pride and ownership of what they create. While keeping up with the flow, and production of time sensitive projects. For the right candidate this job may evolve into a shop foreman role or other type of management position. Experience preferred but not required; willing to train the right candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect all parts prior to cutting and assembly for defect which may include: incorrect sizing, split ends, knots, or rough milling. Cut parts per drawing provided, using a CNC as well as other variety of saws and equipment. Stage and sort parts on carts according to order sequence maintaining production goals and quality. Assist and cross train in other areas of department as needed General cleanliness and housekeeping of personal work area and others within the department All other duties as assigned by coordinator or supervisor

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent Experience building cabinetry, woodworking in a manufacturing environment- Preferred, but willing to train the right candidate Basic math skill including adding fractions and reading measuring tapes Basic Computer skills Must be able to use vision and touch senses to inspect for defects Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without losing attention to detail Ability to follow basic instructions to ensure high quality Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively with others Ability to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

Constantly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Frequently required to stand for long periods of time, walk, and reach Frequently push and pull large carts with door parts or completed doors Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
