•Overview:
In the role of Shop Lead/Mechanic III at Mike's Westside Rental, you hold the position of a highly skilled technician and will take on a leadership role in product expertise and quality standards. As the Shop Lead/Mechanic III, you have attained mastery of the standard operating procedures, also serving as mentors to II and I level mechanics. Your main objective will be to apply your mechanical knowledge to oversee fleet maintenance operations essential for ensuring that MWR equipment remains on the rental "ready line." By adhering to MWR's robust preventative and corrective maintenance plan this objective can be accomplished safely and professionally.The job:
Establish and uphold a regular schedule for conducting preventative maintenance on all MWR fleet vehicles. Independently carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all MWR fleet machinery and trucks. Conduct oil changes, lubricate equipment, replace tires, repair hoses, replace batteries, and perform various other services. Diagnose issues related to internal combustion engines, hydraulics, DC electrical systems, fuel systems, and propane systems. Execute major repairs on fleet equipment utilizing diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments autonomously. Lead in estimating and repairing customer damage. Input and review work orders along with partnering with the Parts Manager for necessary parts. Identify problem areas indicating significant wear or damage on the equipment and recondition or repair where necessary. Be willing and able to respond to service calls and coordinate with the Field Service Mechanic to ensure timely and efficient repairs. Keep the work areas clean and organized. Generate prompt and detailed service reports and repair logs. Assist in the training of I/II Mechanics while following guidance from the shop lead. Adhere to all established company procedures and protocols. Perform additional tasks as assigned.Requirements:
A high school diploma or its equivalent. A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of construction equipment and tools. An advanced mechanical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of tools. A robust mechanical knowledge of various engine types . Candidates must possess the tools relevant to the position. Exceptional customer service, teamwork, and both verbal and written communication skills. Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequently lift and maneuver tools, parts, and components weighing up to 50 lbs ; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance or equipment Perform work requiring bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, and working in confined or awkward positions Ability to stand and work on hard surfaces for extended periods Exposure to noise, vibration, fuels, oils, grease, hydraulic fluids, solvents, and exhaust fumes Ability to work indoors and outdoors, depending on equipment size and repair needs Ability to safely use hand tools, air tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Required to wear PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and protective footwearBenefits:
