• Diesel Mechanic at A&S Refuse. Each day you'll fix the trucks and equipment that service over 45,000 customers across MD. • and determination. You'll be using modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on our late model and new diesel trucks. Here's more of what you'll do:
• Manage, supervise shop personnel, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, emissions systems (SCR, DPF, DEF), hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.

Assisting Mechanics in the completion of project work. Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

• Coordinate with operations managers to prioritize and schedule work orders
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and vehicles
• Monitor inventory levels, order necessary supplies and help us create a PO and inventory system
• Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing and maintain relationships
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and labor hours
• Provide training and mentorship to shop employees Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks on vehicles and conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets established standards

Diesel Mechanic:

2 years of relevant work experience Valid driver's license (minimum 3 years); CDL preferred but not required (Free CDL Training Provided). Must have a clean driving record, pass a 1 year DOT physical, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and pass a criminal background check. Legally eligible to work in the United States Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
