Job Description

Belfast Area Children's Center (BACC), a NAEYC nationally accredited early care and education program, is seeking enthusiastic, caring, and experienced early childhood professionals to join our team. At BACC, we believe children learn best through hands-on exploration, curiosity, and meaningful relationships . Our program embraces nature-based and experiential learning, featuring outdoor classrooms and gardens that encourage children to explore the natural world and participate in growing their own food . Located directly on the Hills to Sea Trail , our setting offers daily opportunities for connection with nature, movement, and outdoor discovery. Responsibilities Work collaboratively as part of a teaching team to design and implement developmentally appropriate classroom structure, curriculum, and learning experiences Provide nurturing, responsive care and engaging early education for young children Maintain a warm, positive, and child-centered learning environment , both indoors and outdoors Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through intentional teaching and play Build respectful, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues Requirements Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent Available for four ten hour shifts beginning June 15th and ending mid to late August. CDA or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related field) preferred Ability to successfully complete DHHS background checks and fingerprinting Previous experience working with children Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis A patient, positive, and nurturing approach to working with children Strong communication skills with both children and adults A collaborative team player who values professionalism and reflective practice Compensation Hourly wages are based on education and experience
