Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in academic settings Previous interpreting experience in schools, especially at the elementary level, is preferred Ability to adapt communication styles to individual student needs Knowledge of DHH classroom and mainstream settings Comfortable collaborating with teachers, other interpreters, and support staff Flexibility to work with both individuals and small groups throughout the school day Professional certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) is required
