Job Description

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Executive Director, facilitate daily activities at SafeHaven which include opening and closing the facility during your shift. Ensure that all scheduled activities occur in timely fashion and encourage members participation. Responsible for ensuring a healthy lunch is served. Teach assigned recovery/wellness classes relying on recovery/wellness principles and personal experience. Responsible for maintaining accuracy and confidentiality of clients, ensuring all members sign in to appropriate daily attendance sheets. Monitor site assistant phone line and outreach to members.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Establish and maintain positive and supportive relationships within SafeHaven members and staff, including problem-solving during conflict or stressful situations with the members of SafeHaven. 2. Interact with members and other staff in a manner that is respectful, courteous, and nonviolent. 3. Facilitate day-to-day activities, initiating and encouraging member participation in group and individual activities throughout the day. 4. Teach assigned recovery/wellness classes to members using their own recovery/wellness as a teaching tool. 5. Ensure that all members have signed up for the appropriate daily attendance records. 6. Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of members' information. 7. Help assist in planning member activities and field trips by gathering member input at monthly meetings. 8. Monitor site phone line and make outreach calls to members who have not attended recently. 9. Maintain professional ethics, consumer confidentiality regulations as established by HIPAA, and following procedures established by the SafeHaven handbook, its bylaws, and the Executive Director. 10. Dress in a manner that is professional but casual and as outlined in the Handbook. 11. Assume other duties relevant to SafeHaven mission as assigned by the Executive Director.
