POSITION OVERVIEW

The Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection (FRCC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking an independent contractor to perform Site Manager tasks for the Rogerson Clematis Garden (RCG). This small public garden is located on the historic Luscher Farm in West Linn, Oregon. This is a 12-month independent contract agreement, renewable annually. No benefits are offered.

HOURS OF WORK

Work is to be performed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week (which may include many or most holidays) between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. when garden volunteers are present. No benefits are offered.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED

Manage and oversee the care and maintenance of a one-acre display garden and working greenhouse Plan and guide the work of regular volunteers in the Garden and the greenhouse Establish work plans and schedules Open and close the Garden on volunteer workdays Provide coaching and match jobs to volunteers' skills and interests Complete maintenance and ensuring cleanliness of the garden and greenhouse Prepare reports for monthly Board meetings and the FRCC Annual Report Oversee the security of the Garden and its facilities Work closely with the Garden Design Committee and the RCG Curator to achieve the goals of the Rogerson Clematis Garden Other tasks as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS A

background in horticulture and plant care knowledge Knowledge of (or willingness to learn quickly about) the genus Clematis Attention to detail Effective written and interpersonal communication skills Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks

Pay:

$25,000.00 per year
