6-Month Contract (Full-Time) About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead a ground-up construction project for a new leasing office and fitness center within an active multifamily community in Arlington Heights, IL. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role overseeing the full lifecycle of a ~2,000+ SF commercial amenity build—from sitework and utilities through vertical construction, MEP coordination, and final finishes. The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership experience in commercial or multifamily construction , with the ability to manage subcontractors, maintain schedule integrity, and ensure quality execution across all phases of the project. What You'll Do Oversee day-to-day on-site construction activities for a ground-up leasing office and fitness center build Coordinate and manage all trades across sitework, utilities, concrete, framing, MEP systems, and interior finishes Drive and enforce project schedule , including 3-week lookaheads and critical path tracking Lead daily site coordination , logistics, and traffic control within an active residential environment Ensure proper execution of underground utilities, foundation work, and structural components Oversee installation of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and low-voltage systems Manage inspections, permits, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle Lead weekly subcontractor and OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed to plans, specs, and safety standards Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site , enforcing OSHA and company safety protocols Provide regular progress updates to internal teams and client stakeholders Coordinate material deliveries, subcontractor sequencing, and site logistics What We're Looking For 5+ years of on-site Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor Strong background in ground-up construction (commercial, multifamily, or amenity spaces preferred) Proven ability to manage multiple trades and complex project scopes simultaneously Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing across all phases Experience with MEP coordination and inspections Proficiency with construction management tools (Procore preferred) and scheduling software Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred) Perks & Additional Info Competitive $50/hour contract rate Opportunity to lead a high-impact, ground-up project from start to finish Exposure to a technically detailed build including site development, infrastructure, and full interior buildout Potential for future project extensions or additional opportunities based on performance
