POSITION PURPOSE

Skate Guards at the Apex Center Ice Arena are crucial in ensuring visitors' safe and enjoyable skating environment. They are responsible for monitoring public skate sessions, enforcing Arena policies, and helping customers at the Ice Desk.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a secure and enjoyable atmosphere on the ice during public skating sessions. Process revenue transactions using the ACTIVENet system. Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the ice arena. Manage the check-in and check-out process for locker rooms. Set up the ice rink appropriately for various activities.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist customers at the front Ice Desk as needed. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

N/A Proficient in effectively interacting with the public and co-workers courteously and efficiently. Capable of managing a cash drawer and processing payments for services. Willingness to follow directions from Management, Supervisors, or Administration. Proficiency in ice skating is essential. Must possess CPR, First Aid, and AED certification with documentation or be able to obtain these certifications within 90 days of hire. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with fellow associates. Minimum age requirement of 15+. No specific education or formal training is required, but previous experience in ice skating is necessary, and having experience in customer service is beneficial. The job primarily occurs within an ice arena environment and may entail interacting with a diverse range of customers and fellow staff members.
