Skilled Laborer

Description:

Job Summary for our skilled laborer position: A skilled laborer performs a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair tasks requiring specialized knowledge and skills, including operating power tools, handling materials, assisting skilled tradespeople, and completing basic tasks in areas like pipe joining, welding, and painting, often under the supervision of a Foreman, while adhering to safety regulations and quality standards Key responsibilities may include: Construction tasks: Pipe threading and joining, duct work installation and or modifications, concrete forming and finishing, minor welding, and performing basic work.

Maintenance and repair:

Performing minor repairs in areas like piping, electrical, welding, and painting Operating machinery: Using power tools like drills, saws, pipe threaders, aerial lifts, and other equipment, depending on the job site Material handling: Loading, unloading, and transporting materials to work areas Site preparation: Cleaning up debris, preparing work areas, and setting up/taking down equipment Assisting skilled tradespeople: Supporting electricians, pipe fitters, welders/fabricators, and other specialized workers with tasks as needed Quality control: Ensuring work is completed to specifications and safety

Above average verbal and written communication ability Above average leadership and interpersonal skills Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines General knowledge of the construction industry Ability to lift weights to 50 pounds Attention to detail

Education and Experience:

Skilled labors need to earn a high school diploma or equivalent. Several years of experience in the construction/industrial industry would be beneficial. Employer to provide on-the-job training as needed.

Employer Expectations:

Employee is expected to travel and stay out of town when required, out of town is 60-mile air radius from home Availability, the employee must be available 24/7 when employee is allocated to an active project Reporting, the employee must be capable of answering who, what, when, and how
