Skilled Machinist

Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will operate and program CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components. This position offers an opportunity to work with CNC lathe and milling machines, and precision measuring instruments. We are a small machine and fabrication job shop that does short run production, custom equipment and machine repair. Duties Operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines to produce parts with high precision. Program CNC machines using CAM/CAD programming software Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration of precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges. Perform routine maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure optimal machine performance. Use hand tools, power tools, and other machining tools to assist with assembly or finishing tasks as needed. Requirements Proven experience as a skilled machinist with proficiency in CNC programming and operation. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with CNC control systems Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions.

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
