Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for delivering individualized skills and socialization services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through face-to-face interactions. Responsibilities include assisting with recreational activities, providing protective supervision through observation and monitoring. Position goals include enhancing personal well-being, promoting growth to improve independence, and implementing processes and procedures as developed by the Supervisor and Nursing staff. This position requires the physical care of individuals, including but not limited to transporting, lifting, transferring, medication administration, and toileting/changing briefs in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center. This position will be responsible for implementing a trauma informed model of care in all services provided which align with CCBHC standards.

Qualifications:

Education and/or

Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Experience working with individuals with mental illness and/ or addiction issues desirable Experience as a parent/caregiver for children with mental/emotional disturbance

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

Current driver's license and a vehicle for use at work

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma. The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
