Direct Support Professional (DSP)
  • Sleep Overnight (NOC)
Location:
Staples, Motley, and Pillager, MN Position Summary We are hiring a Part-Time Sleep Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with disabilities, chronic mental illness, and/or traumatic brain injuries in a residential setting. This role allows for scheduled sleep time during overnight hours while maintaining responsibility for the safety and well-being of the individuals served. Staff must remain on-site, be responsive to any needs that arise, and ensure a safe, stable environment throughout the night. Key Responsibilities Provide active support and supervision during awake hours (9:00 p.m.
  • 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • 9:00 a.m.) Complete evening and morning routines, including personal care as needed Maintain a calm, safe, and structured environment within the home Be available and responsive to resident needs during sleep hours (11:00 p.m.

Conduct required overnight safety checks per program guidelines Respond appropriately to behavioral, safety, or medical situations at any time during the shift Administer medications according to established procedures (if applicable to shift timing) Complete light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and preparation for the next day Accurately complete required documentation and incident reporting Follow all care plans, company policies, and state (245D) regulations Communicate important updates to the incoming team Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background study and pre-employment drug screening Basic computer skills and ability to complete documentation accurately Ability to follow state and company policies, including 245D requirements Ability to remain on-site overnight and respond promptly if assistance is needed Schedule Requirements Full Time position Sleep overnight (NOC) shifts ( 9:00 p.m.
