3x12s | 36 Hours/Week Job Summary The Registered Polysomnographic Technician (PSG Tech) is responsible for performing routine and complex polysomnographic testing and sleep studies for patients with sleep-related disorders. The technician will conduct PSG monitoring, CPAP/BiPAP titrations, patient assessments, and provide education regarding sleep apnea and sleep therapy equipment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical knowledge, independent judgment, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced polysomnographic recordings and sleep studies. Properly prepare and connect patients using appropriate electrode placement techniques. Monitor patients throughout sleep studies and respond appropriately according to department protocols. Administer and titrate CPAP/BiPAP therapy per physician orders and departmental guidelines. Educate patients regarding sleep studies, sleep apnea, CPAP/BiPAP therapy, and testing procedures. Disconnect patients from monitoring equipment and complete all required post-study documentation. Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues related to sleep monitoring equipment. Maintain accurate and timely patient records within the EMR system, including Epic documentation. Follow all hospital and departmental policies, patient safety standards, and infection control guidelines. Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and healthcare team members to support optimal patient outcomes. Required Skills & Experience Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in a sleep medicine or polysomnography setting.Experience performing:
Polysomnographic recordings Sleep study monitoring CPAP therapy BiPAP therapy Electrode placement Patient education Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills. Experience with Epic EMR preferred/required. Required Certifications & Licensure Current BLS Certification Must possess at least one of the following: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) Certification Preferred Certifications ACLS Certification preferred Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited sleep technology or allied health program preferred. Additional Information Must be comfortable working overnight shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong communication and patient care skills required. English proficiency required (read, write, and speak).Pay:
$40.00- $42.
