Job Description

Sleepaway Camp Counselor at Adventure Camp in Colorado (Girls Bunk) Meredith, CO 81642 $500 a week
  • Temporary, Full-time, Contract $500 a week
  • Temporary, Full-time, Contract Ajax Sleepaway Counselor (Girls Bunk Positions Available) The 5 qualifications for counselor applicants: 1.
Love working with kids. 2. Prioritize safety. 3. Be responsibly crazy. 4. Possess the desire to lead. 5. Love the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains Ajax Sleepaway's goal is to provide an adventurous, awesome, outdoor summer experience for every camper that attends camp. We are looking for staff who think they can provide this atmosphere while maintaining the safety of all campers. We know part of what makes an amazing camp and keeps campers coming back, is an amazing staff. With that being said, when our counselors are happy, so too are our campers. Like with all of our campers, we want all of our counselors to have the best summer of their lives. However, being responsible for not only campers' enjoyment but, more importantly, their safety can be stressful at times. We are looking for smart, responsible, and passionate counselors who believe they can balance the responsibility with the ability to let loose and have fun. We believe this is the exact type of counselor who will thrive at our camp. We are located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies at 8,888 ft above sea level. The nights are cool, afternoon thunderstorms often flash through the valley, and the sunsets blaze the sky after dinner time. We take full advantage of our surroundings and truly provide a Colorado mountain adventure camp. It is important to note, our Sleeapway Camp is relatively new! We started our day camp in 2010 in Aspen and then moved our sleepaway camp to its permanent home on our 320 acre ranch in 2016. We subsequently hibernated operations for 3 years during the pandemic and re-opened in 2023! Thus, we are still in 'start-up' mode. As such, we hope that you will actively participate in helping refine our camp structure and help cultivate an amazing camp atmosphere. For those who want to have a great impact on the formation of a sleepaway camp in the high country of Colorado, this is an amazing opportunity. For those who desire to work at a century old camp with immutable systems, manicured lawns and air conditioning, this is not the camp for you. Please visit www.ajaxsleepaway.com to get a better understanding of our camp philosophy, the activities we run, what a typical day at camp looks like and more.
