Job Description Ulbrich of California is currently seeking a Slitter Operator for their West Coast Service Center located in Pico Rivera, CA.

Slitter Operator Responsibilities Include:

Set up, operate, and adjust slitting machines according to work orders and specifications Read and interpret production orders, coil specs, and tolerances Inspect material before, during and after processing to ensure quality standards are met Measure slit widths and edge quality to verify accuracy Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures at all times Loading and unloading steel coils onto a slitting machine Cutting cores for metal to be wound onto from a slitting machine Driving a sit-down forklift to retrieve steel coils from inventory racks Weighing steel coils and handling scrap metal Banding skids and packaging steel coils Lifting coils and packages that weigh a maximum of 50 lbs. Creating and printing ID tags for coils Entering production data and measurements into a computer system Making calculations using mathematical formulas Other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualified candidates will have: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of two years of previous related experience operating process machinery along with forklift driving. Ability to read, write and interpret written documents, problem solve and perform basic math calculations to a level generally equivalent to that attained at a high school level, including the use and calculation of decimals, fractions. Ability to use micrometer, caliper, scale and fixed gauges and other simple measuring equipment. Ability to make operating adjustments to maintain quality. Ability to work from job orders, customer specifications and operational procedures. Demonstrated ability to use reason and judgment in the planning and performance of duties.

Pay Range:
