Overview Are you passionate about the art of smoking meat and creating mouthwatering barbecue that keeps guests coming back for more? We're seeking an energetic and dedicated Smokehouse Pitmaster to lead our pit crew in crafting exceptional smoked dishes. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a lively environment, loves sharing their culinary expertise, and takes pride in delivering authentic, flavorful barbecue experiences. As a key member of our culinary team, you'll bring smoky perfection to every plate while inspiring others with your mastery of traditional and innovative smoking techniques. Responsibilities Oversee the entire smoking process, ensuring each batch meets our high standards for flavor, texture, and presentation Prepare and season meats, poultry, and seafood with precision and creativity to enhance flavor profiles Maintain and operate all smoking equipment safely and efficiently, performing regular cleaning and troubleshooting as needed Develop new recipes and smoking techniques to keep our menu fresh, exciting, and aligned with customer preferences Train and mentor team members on proper smoking methods, safety procedures, and quality control standards Monitor inventory levels of meats, wood chips, spices, and other supplies to ensure seamless operations Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing for prep, smoking, and service to optimize freshness and quality Requirements Proven experience as a Pitmaster or smoker chef with a deep understanding of various smoking techniques and equipment Strong knowledge of meat preparation, seasoning blends, temperature control, and food safety standards Ability to operate commercial-grade smokers and related kitchen tools confidently Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Passion for creating flavorful dishes that delight guests and showcase craftsmanship Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to support busy service times Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with different wood types for smoking, recipe development experience, or certifications in food safety Join us if you're eager to elevate your culinary skills in a vibrant setting where smoky flavors reign supreme!
