Job Description

Salary range: $75,000-$90,000
GENERAL SCOPE:
Jewish Home Foundation seeks a dynamic and experienced fund development professional to assist the Executive Director of the Foundation team to plan, lead and grow its major gifts and planned giving efforts.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a BA degree and at least 10 years of progressive fundraising and management experience with extensive experience in major gift fundraising. Will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage projects, events and deadlines effectively. Will possess strong professional ethics, integrity and accountability in all behavior; react well under pressure; treat others with respect; ensure transparency in all actions. Proven success in conducting major gift and planned giving asks. Successful experience in coaching and training volunteers and staff in fund development activities. Experience in strategic planning and budget development and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in Raiser's Edge donor management system. Knowledge of funding source environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide leadership for all major gift and planned giving initiatives. Work with Executive Director to position the organization to maximize fund development opportunities. Create and execute a comprehensive major gift & planned giving work plan, including budgets and specific goals, objectives and strategies for the department. Foster a culture of philanthropy and enhance a donor centered approach to our advancement goals that nurtures loyalty through a comprehensive relationship building program of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Cultivate, solicit and steward prospective major gift and planned giving prospects and develop a plan to do the same. Build relationships with the estate and financial planning professionals. Coordinate suggestions for planned giving vehicles with prospects and their advisors to meet their estate/financial planning goals and those of the Foundation. Maintain a high level of expertise regarding state and federal taxes; gift and estate planning methods and the legal aspect of charitable planned giving. Ensure that donor relations and all fundraising activities meet the highest ethical standards. Identify and engage new donors. Assist with grant writing and identification of prospective funders. Conduct prospect research and identify pool of prospective major gift donors and opportunities. Provide qualitative and quantitative reporting and analysis of giving to the Foundation team and the Foundation's Board of Directors.
