The salary for this position is $8,106.00
- $10,663.
- and long-term replacement of buildings, long-term space planning, major renovations, expansion of county facilities, and land or property acquisitions.
Capital Projects Planning Manager Essential Personnel:
This position is considered to be an essential worker and may be required to work during non-business hours or closures to meet operational requirements and needs.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment- Majority of work is in an office setting in Olympia, Washington, some work will be performed at various locations in Thurston County. Schedule

- 5:00 p.m. Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings or to various facilities within Thurston County. Customer Interactions
- Daily interactions vis phone, in-person, and video with Thurston County staff, contractors, elected officials, and the public.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or another related field. Eight (8) years of related project management experience, or related field experience, to include thorough knowledge of construction/contract administration; plans and specification development; construction inspection, interior space design/utilization, and commercial building code. Experience may substitute education with the following conditions: Twelve (12) years of related project management experience or related field, as described above, AND certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM). OR Ten (10) years of related project management experience or related field, as described above, AND licensure as a Professional Engineer or Architect will qualify for consideration, while the successful candidate will be required to work toward and achieve certification as a PMP or CCM within two (2) years of hire. Five (5) years supervisory experience. Certification as a PMP or CCM. Licensure as a Professional Engineer or Architect will qualify for consideration, while the successful candidate will be required to work toward and achieve certification as a PMP or CCM within two (2) years of hire. Ability to use computers and related software to successfully perform essential job functions of the position. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, related to all phases of commercial building construction, implementation, inspection, and management. A current and valid Washington State Driver's License. Pass a criminal background check.DESIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of principles of project management, planning, project coordination and program and process evaluation. Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, presentation, interpersonal, critical analysis and capable of leading and influencing teams and gaining support and commitment from stakeholder groups. Demonstrated experience in direct project management including scheduling, forecasting, milestone management, budget preparation, contract negotiations, expenditure control, and risk management.
