The role will also contribute to underwriting of renewable energy assets, with an emphasis on BESS. This role is focused on supporting transaction execution, structuring, and investor engagement, while partnering closely with development, legal, and external counterparties. The ideal candidate will have experience in project finance, structured finance, or energy transactions and a strong understanding of renewable energy financing.
Key responsibilities include:
Support underwriting of renewable energy assets, particularly BESS, including reviewing assumptions with Development, revenue modeling, and risk assessment to inform pricing, development and investment decisions Provide strategic financial insights to the development team to support negotiations with counterparties, customers & offtakers Maintain and develop transaction and underwriting models to support structuring, valuation, negotiations with capital providers, and evaluation of project economics Support execution of renewable energy transactions, including financial structuring, diligence coordination, and closing execution Support preparation of investment materials, including memos and presentations for internal investment committee Support capital raising initiatives, including investor outreach, data room management, and diligence processes Track and synthesize market intelligence on financing structures, pricing trends, and investor appetite across renewable energy asset classes Building blocks for success
Required:
3+ years of experience in renewable energy transactions, project finance, structured finance, investment banking, or private equity Experience supporting or executing transactions involving debt, tax equity, and/or equity investments Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering; MBA or CFA are a plus Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with proficiency in Excel and experience building and auditing transaction models Familiarity with renewable energy financing structures, including tax incentives (ITC, MACRS), PPAs, project finance frameworks, and battery storage revenue models (e.g., merchant, tolling, ancillary services) Self-starter with strong ability to work independently to accomplish job duties with minimal need for guidance and support in making decisions and recommendations High degree of comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with ability to effectively manage priorities, communicate to stakeholders, and meet deadlines
Preferred:
Direct experience interfacing with lenders, tax equity investors, or institutional capital providers Experience with transaction processes including diligence management, data rooms, and closing documentation
Hiring Salary Range of:
$102,000 - $150,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
