This position performs advanced level work conducting economic research under the limited supervision of the Economic Consultant- SES in the Economic Research Analysis Section, Occupational Analysis team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of economic theory, principles, terminology and techniques. Advanced knowledge of statistics. Advanced knowledge of data collection principles and methods. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data using statistics and analytical software packages, such as R, Tableau, Python, IMPLAN or SQL. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials. Ability to conduct fact-finding research. Ability to make decisions and solve problems. Ability to work independently and take initiative when appropriate. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.Minimum:
Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department. May be required to travel.Preferred :
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related Social Science. One year of analysis experience in a research environment.Pay:
$45,000- $55,000

The Work You Will Do:
The Economic Analyst is a member of the Economic Research and Analysis team in the Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research (WSER), Division of Workforce Services. This position conducts economic, demographic, and employment research and analysis using programming, model building, statistics and regression techniques. They contribute to projects and assignments as part of project teams, ensuring integrity, timely, accurate and quality delivery while coordinating and supporting the project's team. They use strong relationship and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, agency partners and internal and external customers.The Difference You Will Make:
