The Economic Incentives Specialist will support our Economic Incentives Group by assisting with the preparation of documentation and applications for Brownfield redevelopment incentives, tax increment financing and other economic development incentives. About the
Opportunity Responsibilities:
1. Draft documents such as Brownfield Plans, Work Plans, tax abatement applications, MEDC incentive documents, EGLE applications, MSHDA applications, city applications, etc., under the direction of an attorney, to support economic development projects for clients 2. Research and gather supporting documentation and evidence to include with projects being submitted to the municipalities and State of Michigan 3. Create and maintain detailed spreadsheets for tax and financial projections and to track status and conclusion of projects 4. Stay abreast of and communicate the status of on-going projects to ensure deadlines and important follow up items are not missed 5. Establish a professional rapport with clients and keep them well abreast of the status of their matters as directed by the supervising attorney 6. About You Experience, Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree 5+ years of relevant experience managing economic incentives projects required Solid mathematical skills Experienced with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel user The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday and being able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
