The Center for Arizona Policy is seeking a Policy Coordinator to support and help execute legislative strategy at the Arizona Capitol. This role sits at the center of the action during legislative session—tracking bills, supporting policy initiatives, and helping ensure nothing falls through the cracks in a fast-moving environment. If you are highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated by work that has real impact, this role offers a front-row seat to public policy—and the responsibility that comes with it. About the Role The Policy Coordinator supports the Policy Team by managing legislative tracking, conducting research, and ensuring timely communication of policy developments. This is a high-execution role. Success requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and consistent follow-through under pressure. What You'll Do Track legislation, hearings, and key policy developments at the Arizona Legislature Maintain a detailed legislative calendar and ensure real-time accuracy Attend committee hearings and take clear, actionable notes Monitor bill movement and maintain up-to-date tracking systems Conduct research on policy issues, legislation, and candidates Prepare summaries, reports, and internal briefing materials Compile and distribute daily legislative updates and news Support grassroots engagement efforts, including action alerts and "Request to Speak" Assist with the Arizona Voter Guide and other key policy projects Help train and support policy interns What It Takes to Succeed You are highly organized and don't let details slip You follow through—consistently and without reminders You can manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment You communicate clearly and concisely You take ownership of your work and anticipate needs You stay steady under pressure, especially during legislative session Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (public policy, government, or related field preferred) Relevant internship or work experience in policy, government, or advocacy preferred Familiarity with the legislative process (Arizona experience a plus) Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general technology tools Typing speed of 60+ WPM (75+ preferred) Who We Are The Center for Arizona Policy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing foundational principles, including the protection of life, strengthening families, and preserving religious freedom.
