Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the development and advancement of Indigenous-centered policy and systems initiatives that promote innovation, health equity, and sustainable outcomes for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. Build and coordinate strategic partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to develop culturally grounded policies, strengthen community capacity, and support collaborative initiatives. Translate research into policy and practice by analyzing legislation, developing policy recommendations, supporting community-based programs and evaluations, and ensuring Indigenous knowledge systems and community priorities are integrated into all initiatives. Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Studies, or a related field, and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander cultures, community networks, history, and practices. Working knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and systems related to public policy and program management. Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders across community, government, and academic sectors. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. Experience in program coordination or management, including community-based initiatives. - Proficiency in computer and word processing applications. Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Supplemental Minimum Qualifications:
Skilled communicator with various types of stakeholders and communities. Considerable understanding of historical and contemporary knowledge systems related to ecological and community health in Hawai'i. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Desirable Qualifications :
Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Indigenous Studies, Communications or Public Administration.
