Public Health Emergency Response Planner - Jackson County Public Health (M-F 8-4:30) 101 Truman Medical Center Job Location Jackson County Public Health Lee's Summit, Missouri Department JCHD Emergency Preparedness Position Type Full time Work Schedule 8:00AM - 4:30PM Hours Per Week 40 Job Description Join a mission that matters! The Regional Response Planner works with the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS) to strengthen public health preparedness across Region A. This role helps shape emergency response plans, coordinates training and exercises, and ensures Jackson County Health Department and partner agencies are ready to respond when it counts most. What You'll Do Develop and update regional public health emergency response plans in collaboration with DHSS and Region A partners. Support other planning regions as assigned; occasional travel required. Participate in state and local emergency preparedness trainings and exercises. Collaborate with health departments, hospitals, and regional partners to align emergency response planning. Evaluate and improve response strategies based on lessons learned from drills and real events. Promote quality, safety, and cultural awareness in all activities. Maintain compliance with all relevant statutes, policies, and standards. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and organizations. Valid driver's license and compliance with Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in public health, emergency management, or a related field. Ready to plan for the unexpected?
