Job Description

Our client, a large investor-owned electric utility serving customers across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an experienced Consultant - PJM Market Policy to join its regulatory and market strategy team. This individual will play a key role in shaping wholesale electricity market policy within PJM, serving as the company's primary representative on market policy matters while working closely with internal business leaders and external industry stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site position that may be based at several company locations throughout the PJM footprint. Regular travel to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and other PJM meetings is required. Strong opportunities for professional growth within a respected and financially stable organization. What you'll do: Serve as the company's primary representative on PJM market policy matters. Develop and advance market policy strategies aligned with business objectives. Analyze PJM Market Rules, Governing Agreements, and Manuals, evaluating business impacts and recommending strategic responses. Build consensus among internal business units and external stakeholders on key market policy issues. Represent the company before PJM Senior Standing Committees, Standing Committees, Liaison Committee meetings, and other industry forums. Develop relationships with PJM leadership, Monitoring Analytics, and other market participants. Lead external advocacy efforts involving market rule changes and industry initiatives. Provide strategic guidance to company leadership regarding complex PJM market issues. Support advocacy efforts before FERC and state regulatory commissions, as appropriate. Communicate complex market developments to technical and executive audiences.
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline. Approximately 10+ years of experience in the energy or utility industry. Extensive knowledge of PJM markets and the PJM stakeholder process. Strong understanding of wholesale electricity markets, market policy, and regulatory strategy. Experience developing or implementing market policy initiatives. Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to influence diverse stakeholders and build consensus on complex policy matters. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities. Willingness to travel regularly throughout the PJM region.
