POLICY COORDINATOR

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected statewide nonprofit association and play a meaningful role in advancing initiatives that strengthen the nonprofit sector across Illinois. The Policy Coordinator will work closely with senior policy and government affairs leaders, gaining valuable exposure to state and federal policy, elected officials, nonprofit advocacy, and influential community stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Track priority legislation, monitor Illinois and federal policy developments, and proactively brief senior policy leadership on emerging opportunities and risks. Coordinate meetings with elected officials, government agencies, public offices, and coalition partners, including scheduling, materials, follow-up, and documentation. Support government affairs activities, lobbying compliance, reporting, and policy engagement in Springfield and throughout Illinois. Assist with policy communications, newsletters, social media content, fact sheets, website updates, and advocacy campaigns. Coordinate policy events, webinars, member briefings, surveys, focus groups, and other educational programming. Support the Policy Committee through member recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, meeting preparation, and record maintenance. Maintain accurate constituent and stakeholder information within Salesforce and public affairs systems. Serve as a key administrative partner to the policy team, coordinating calendars, invoices, payments, expense reports, and reporting requirements. Support stakeholder and member engagement while delivering an exceptional experience at every point of contact. Attend selected statewide and national events, including periodic travel to Springfield and Washington, D.C. The ideal Policy Coordinator will bring 1-2+ years of administrative or coordination experience, exceptional organization and attention to detail, strong writing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. Experience with government, the Illinois General Assembly, Salesforce, WordPress, Eventbrite, Zoom, or SurveyMonkey is highly valued.
